So! The exciting news that you’ve been promised is that WE ARE EXPANDING

We have started setting up a second, slightly larger veggie farm. This plot is on a sandier soil so in the future when we have long wet periods it wont put us out of action for weeks on end.
The sandier soil coupled with a reliable water source means that this new plot will be more flood and drought proof than our current one.
BUT! we are confident at this new site, with time we will be able to work through any challenges by sticking to our growing practices that are centred on soil health, responsible land management.

By continuing to use organic and biologically minded growing practices we’ll be able to build up the soil health quickly so we can grow the healthiest and tastiest veggies possible.
Although these new developments are extremely exciting to us as it means we’ll be in a position to continue to provide our community with delicious vegetables for many years to come it does come with a bitter sweet note.
We had intended to make this move at some point but not for another year or so. We have moved these plans ahead so quickly because it has become uncertain how long we will be able to remain at our current farm.
We are hopeful that we will be able to keep the old farm and run both plots simultaneously. All our fast turn over crops will move to the new farm asap and the old plot will be transitioned to long term crops such as pumpkins, watermelons, ginger ect. that are much lower maintenance.

We’ll keep you in the loop as we know more but for now you can be assured that we are working hard to get the new farm up and running as soon as possible.
Setting up a new farm in no small feet, it involves long days building new beds, amending, putting in cover crops and building infrastructure.

So! With that in mind and with how extremely boggy our current farm is we have made the hard decision to pause veggie boxes until the spring/summer time when the farm has dried out and we have finished setting up the infrastructure for the new veggie farm.
This means weekly boxes will not be available for a few months. We are hoping to start back up our subscriptions in the Spring time but we’ll keep you updated on that as we move forward.
You will however be able to pick up our vegetables from our Farm Stall which will be re-opening Thursday 1st of August.
Make sure to come see us at our Farm Stall weekly so we can continue to fund this massive move.
Thank you so much for all your support we can’t do it without you guys and we can’t wait to get back to bringing you loads of yummy veggies in the months to come.
Keep an eye out for farm updates because there will be lots happening in the coming weeks.
