Killing the pasture using occultation (covering with a tarp). This is becoming a popular alternative to spraying harmful chemicals.
One time till to help break compaction and aerate the soil so we can build our permanent raised beds (thank you Dave from Feedback Organics for the tractor and The Good Growers for the lend of the plough)
Bed building and amending. We used a mix of lime, gypsum and trace minerals to balance the soil and promote healthy plant growth.
Our permanent beds! String lined and raked.
